BERİL- PROJECT COORDINATOR - ANADOLU KÜLTÜR

Beril has studied psychological counseling, followed by Cultural Studies in her MA in Boğaziçi University with a special interest in visual sociology, cultural anthropology and applied arts, specifically ceramics and photography. She became TA in Sociology Department of İstanbul Bilgi University and during seven years of teaching and learning in academy, she joined several cross-disciplinary projects. She also contributed to several culture institutions, international film festivals and art exhibitions as a freelance translator and editor. Beril has been active in civic initiatives and collectives as volunteer, and is part of “Refugees -We Are- Neighbors” Solidarity Network. Her PhD is focused on refugee and non-refugee actors’ informal solidarity practices in İstanbul.

After working with local and international NGOs in protection, access to rights and advocacy, she currently is part of the project management team of “German-Turkish Initiative for Collaboration on Refugee Relief”. She is enthusiastic about collaborative work on alternative pedagogies and inclusive approaches in/for a transcultural environment. She advocates and hopes for developing impactful creative methods that will be shared and commonly used by children and youth with and without refugee background both in Turkey and Germany.

BIRTE - PROJECT COORDINATOR - LaKI

After gaining first work experience as a social worker in the youth welfare services and working as project manager for different EU Lifelong Learning projects as a sideline, Birte built up an international voluntary programme for a subsidiary of a German Red Cross association. During the peak of the refugee crisis in Germany, she changed her job to run a refugee shelter in Essen, offering counselling in questions about asylum procedures, social rights, family reunification and psycho-social support. Birte is happy to coordinate the German-Turkish Initiative for the German partner LaKI and is looking forward for hands-on outputs to be easily integrated and used in the field.

EKİN - PROJECT ASSISTANT - ANADOLU KÜLTÜR

Ekin is graduated from Hacettepe University, department of German Language and Literature. During his studies, he also gained experience in different sectors such as, creating a web platform on TV Series, co-founding a Health-Tourism agency, and researching in Agriculture and Stock Raising. In Summer 2016, he is accepted for an internship at ”Truth Justice Memory Center” in Istanbul. He then, traveled to Armenia for the international “Bridging Stories” project focused on storytelling and exploring culture through photography between Turkey and Armenia. Due to his interest in philosophy and communication, he aims to proceed his studies around these fields, specifically in relation with minority rights, human rights and the transformation of identity politics. Just after his graduation, he applied for “All Together” project assistant post and he is happy to be part of this collaboration.
