Space for Inclusion working group consists of teachers, academicians, researchers and policy analysts as well as children activities coordinators.
The physical and socio-emotional environment in which children play and learn has an important role in the process of establishing a healthy interaction and opening space for self-expression and building social inclusion. Therefore this group created a supporting guideline for facilitators of educational activities that helps the facilitator create a safe and inclusive learning environment for the children with and without refugee background
At the same time, the reader of the booklet shall be more sensitive for diversity and inclusion.
The group creates a small booklet comprised of guidance for planning and running inclusive educational approaches in different learning environments. The definition of the term “inclusion”, created by UNESCO in the Salamanca declaration (1994), is the basis of this booklet. (en.unesco.org/themes/inclusion-in-education) The guidance of the booklet shall enable facilitators, through practical suggestions, to respect diversified needs and socio-cultural backgrounds of children, multiplicity of abilities, strengths and characteristics of children and eliminate all forms of discriminative discourse or behavior in the learning environment
