Representatives of 16 organisations from Germany and Turkey met in Istanbul for a two day Kick-Off Event. This was a start of 1,5 years long journey of exploring needs and possible solutions for “working more inclusively with children and adolescents” in both countries. The main aim of the project is to develop interdisciplinary and intersectional "Training of Trainers" (ToTs) that support a diversity sensitive approach in non-formal education.
The participants of the project are coming from various fields of work, such as cultural education, media pedagogy, inter-/transcultural education, early childhood education, language education and psychosocial support.
After meeting and connecting on a personal as well as on a professional level, in the Kick-off event they discovered common challenges on the way to create a more inclusive society, and what they could possibly contribute, individually and institutionally, to support a better inclusion in social and educational life.
At the end of the two days hard work, the participants came up with topics of interest related to inclusion for the upcoming study trips. Study trips will serve as “co-learning and experience sharing” moments for participants, during which they will discover more perspectives on the related topics as well as create the ground for the process of co-creation of "Training of Trainers".
We extend our thanks to Art of Hosting for supporting us with process design and hosting this event.
